  Pre-Design Services & Planning

Architectural Pre-Design is provided as a service to allow the church to develop the ideas for their future growth, during the first phase as well as in future phases.

The documents provided in the Pre-Design will be sufficient to allow the church leadership to present to the congregation, bankers, and officials, the direction of the project, without entering into the full Architectural Agreement for Construction Documents.

Space Planning

Space plan drawings are necessary to arrive at a mutually accepted approach to the design during this phase. Space planning is done as balloon diagrams or box design. This type of plan shows you how to best distribute services throughout the building. Both proposed and long-range planning can be included in this step.

Master Site Planning

Preparing a master site plan schematic showing current, proposed, long-range building, and parking is one of the smartest services a church can do. This Master Plan will be the map showing where each building in a multi-phased project will be located. Often churches will have to tear up asphalt by not planning for long range growth. Planning allows then to use their site to its fullest potential from the beginning. A Master site plan will include not only the first phase of the project and the parking requirements for this phase, but the block placement of phases two, three, and so on including parking.

Final Preliminary Planning

Final Preliminaries are the hard-lined computer generated drawings of your selected space plan. Final Preliminaries consist of the proposed site plan, floor plan, exterior elevation, and building section. These drawings will show you the layout of the interior, such as restroom fixtures, kitchen design, and seating diagrams.

This step also includes the code review process. Your plan is checked for compliance with your city’s building codes. Any necessary revisions will be made at this time.

Presentation Materials

Your church may eventually need presentational materials for the congregation or zoning officials.

You have many options to choose from when presenting your project. You may choose from materials such as physical models, computer generated renderings, foam mounted display boards, framed artwork, or media presentations such as PowerPoint.

Models

Depending upon the size and scope of your project you may decide to have a physical 3-D Model of your future building created. A 3-D Model will show, in true scale, the sizes and relationships of both new and existing structures and their placement on your land. 3-D Models are typically placed under a Plexiglas box for protection and kept as a permanent fixture in the church.

Computer Generated Renderings

A computer generated rendering is a three dimensional model created within the computer environment, giving the viewer the capability of seeing the completed project, with all the proper building finishes and landscaping features.

Renderings can give you a realistic look at your church in the colors and materials you choose. Landscaping, parking, people, and outdoor equipment are just a few of the additions you can select when a rendering is provided for your church. It’s even possible to choose the season, flower, shrub and tree choices.

These renderings are 36”x24” in size, suitable for framing or laminating. We recommend framing in acrylic poster frames.
